Our opening Cocktails and Croquet reception sets the stage for a splendid weekend away. Visit Cornelius Vanderbilt’s “cottage” and play croquet at Chateau-sur-Mer, Rough Point and the exquisite lawn of the world-famous Ocean House Hotel in Watch Hill, RI. Learn the 7 Skills to Play Like a Champion as taught by Jiminy Wicket®. Wrap up this elegant weekend by celebrating with a Great Gatsby styled croquet match and awards luncheon at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, (bring your striped blazers, bow ties, flapper dresses and cloche hats).

About Castle Hill Inn and Lighthouse: This historic mansion was built in 1875 by Alexander Agassiz, the naturalist, oceanographer, and zoologist of Harvard University. Today, Castle Hill Inn masterfully combines a stirring sense of place, one-of-a-kind accommodation and exceptional cuisine. The nearby lighthouse was completed in 1890 on land that Agassiz sold to the United States Government for $1.

The Forbes Four-Star restaurant at Castle Hill Inn has been the backdrop of memorable occasions for more than a century and is lauded as one of the best restaurants in Newport. Chef Lou Rossi and his culinary team create dishes utilizing the local bounty of produce, seafood, and artisanal producers to present a unique and memorable experience.
